Schuchhardt fort no. 28 on the Large Earthen Wall situated in pasture and woodland on a promontory sloping down towards the Carasu valley W of Gura Ghermele.
Sub-rectangular enclosure with rounded corners on the end of a slightly raised plateau in permanent pasture immediately to the NW of Viile. Used historically as a cemetery. Probable Roman fort.
Roman villa and Iron Age settlement of pits and sunken houses in cultivated fields on the S bank of the Mureș 3km NE of Vințu de Jos. Tegulae were recovered from fieldwalking. Identification confirmed by subsequent excavation.
